Giorgio Sommer

Here's a very interesting photographer:

Born in Germany, Giorgio Sommer later moved to Italy and photographed almost exclusively in that country.  He teamed up with Edmund Behles, a German photographer, and together they were very successful in Italy.  Sommer mainly took photos of ruins and landscapes, but was also known fairly well for his portraits.  In my opinion, he had a great skill for composition that most people today have to work for years to achieve.

  1. Great find, Marissa! This reminds me of that early impulse toward inventing photography...the ability to take pictures of your travels.
