Uta Barth

After looking through some of the works that were listed for this weeks blog post, Uta Barth's work really caught my attention. Barth is a photographer from Los Angeles, whose work didn't become popular until the 1990's. The series that brought great attention to her work was Ground and Field, which focused on blur. Her images focus strongly on a hazy blur, which is caused by an unoccupied foreground. I find her work very intriguing because the atmosphere becomes the subject matter, not what is actually photographed. The attached article tells more about her work and explains the process.
