William Jennings

I hope this wasn't already brought up in class, but I came across the first photograph taken of lightening, taken by amateur photographer William Jennings in 1882 when he wanted to discover if lightening had a zig zag form, like it was often depicted in paintings.  It made me consider all the firsts in photography and its use further the knowledge of man through the years.  I find this image striking (pun intended), because of the unaltered simplicity of its execution and its purpose.
