Yousuf Karsh

In 1952 Karsh took an assignment from Maclean’s magazine to document Canada’s postwar economic development. It took him seventeen months to complete the photos and he took 8,334 negatives! These photos are very interesting because Karsh does a great job of making a complex composition. The photos are better in black and white and ever since we had a discussion in class about black and white verse color photography I now feel myself  trying to figure out what would work better for the photos.
