Joel-Peter Witkin

I briefly cover Joel-Peter Witkin in a different class but am now understanding the motif of his work a bit better. Although, the content of his work is still deranged to me. I chose to blog about Witkin because he is a very popular contemporary photographer but his pictures look like they are done by a portrait photographer with a daguerrotype from the late 1800's. Not only do his pictures take inspiration from classic photography but I also have noticed he takes inspiration from the subjects of other classic photos and fine art.
