Richard Misrach
Sarah Reynolds and I have decided upon Richard Misrach as our photogrpaher. We have done some searches through the library for articles and journal entries. These mostly cover his most known work Desert Cantos. In one of the articles we found it says, "...he (Richard Misrach) camps out in what passes for the remote desert only to show our unexpected hand in it everywhere. He's a specialist in transmitting drab, and finally ghastly, news from epic landscapes."

Hi Dean, As I told Sarah, Misrach is a great selection. And the article you mention from American Art is scholarly and legit. Good choice. However, you're not formatting the bibliographic entry properly, so please revisit my guidelines and format that information according to Chicago style. You can edit your post here or just add the proper citation in a comment. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThis citation is still incorrect. Please look again at my template and revise accordingly. Every bit of punctuation is important.

ReplyDeleteI can't for the life of me get this blog to let me italicize the title of the journal (grrrr), but here's how your citation should look...just imagine that American Art is in italics:
ReplyDeleteKozloff, Max. "Ghastly News from Epic Landscapes." American Art 5 (Winter/Spring 1991): 108-31.
OK, I was curious because the way it was shown is different form what you've written and I checked it multiple times with different sources. I've just been getting very frustrated over this.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I'm not sure what differences you are referring to. Other than the journal title needing to be in italics the way I wrote your Kozloff article in the above comment matches precisely the template I gave in my earlier blog post. This is the one I posted as a guideline:
ReplyDeleteSmithson, Robert. “Incidents of Mirror-Travel in the Yucatan.” Artforum 8 (September 1969): 28-33.
What questions can I answer for you? I don't want it to be frustrating. Rather, I want it to be clear so you can execute properly.
