Since we were encouraged to post about whatever we want, I chose to write about Dorothea Lange because she created one of the most iconic photographs in history, The Migrant Mother. Previously, I had only really seen that one image of hers, and after looking through her body of work, I found that she created so many other great photos of that time as well. It is too bad most people don't see beyond that one photo, but if you go to this site you can. The first image below is one that particularly struck me with it's interesting mix of textures within the umbrella, hat, and dress, as well as the contrast created with the dark umbrella against the bright sky in the background.
