I'm Shani Horvath and I'm in my senior (but sadly, not last) year at Ball State. Creative Writing major, Art History minor. I'm not much of a photographer myself, but I've always had an appreciation for what others capture with their cameras, whether it's beautiful, confusing, or even disturbing. After our lectures in class, I find these below photographs even more fascinating then ever. Our ability to capture images has gone from hours, to minutes, to mere milliseconds. As everything continues to progress in this field, I'm honestly wondering what other advancements will be made in the years, and even decades to come.
There are other Creative Writing major/Art History minors out there? I feel so much less alone!
ReplyDeleteThese are some wickedly cool looking photos, I love the saturation of the colors and strange shapes, it looks other-worldly. I also think you bring up a great point with how far we have traveled in the field of photography. When you stop to think about it, it's almost mind boggling.

I'm with both of you, it's insane to think how far we've come in photography and how much more out there we've yet to discover. These photographs are amazingly beautiful! I scrolled past without reading the bio and then saw the pictures and had to stop. I love that you can see the colors individually and the spots where they are starting to mix together. Absolutely wonderful.

At first I just assumed that they were some sort of computer generated design, but then I realized that they were ink in water and it blew my mind. I can't get the link you posted to work, but I am going to look his work up in a little bit. Very intriguing, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese photographs are absolutely beautiful. Looking at his other work, I love his experimentation with this style of photography and design. The abstracted imagery is very compelling, whether on its own or used in his design work. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese photographs are so intriguing! Before reading the description, I was unsure of how they were created and assumed it was just a digital manipulation. Not only is the process fascination, but I love that the abstractions almost look like human figures draped in fabric, Beautiful.
